Radiation Safety Lead

The Radiation Safety Lead is responsible for leading the radiation protection program for the Phoenix Project. This role provides technical leadership and strategic oversight to ensure radiation safety systems, monitoring programs, procedures, and controls are effectively implemented as the project advances towards operations. The Radiation Safety Lead supports regulatory compliance, operational readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives while fostering a strong radiation safety culture across site activities. This is a site-based, rotational role based in Northern Saskatchewan.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of radiation protection programs for the Phoenix Project
- Provide technical oversight of radiation monitoring, contamination control, dosimetry, and exposure management activities
- Develop and maintain radiation safety procedures, standards, and monitoring programs
- Support regulatory compliance activities, inspections, audits, and reporting requirements
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to operations and site personnel on radiation safety practices
- Support operational readiness, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action activities
- Coordinate radiation protection training and awareness initiatives across site teams
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and regulators to support safe and compliant project execution
Requirements
You are an experienced radiation protection professional with strong technical expertise and leadership experience in uranium or other highly regulated industrial environments. You are comfortable leading radiation safety programs in a dynamic project setting and providing guidance across multidisciplinary teams. In addition, you bring:
- A Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics
- 8+ years of radiation protection experience, preferably in uranium mining, milling, or nuclear related operations
- Experience overseeing radiation monitoring, dosimetry, contamination control, and exposure reduction programs
- Strong knowledge of radiation protection principles, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Experience developing radiation protection procedures, training programs, and monitoring strategies
- Experience supporting regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance reporting
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency with radiation monitoring systems, technical databases, and MS Office applications
- Willingness to work a site-based rotational schedule in the Northern Athabasca Basin
