Job Summary
Oasis National supports a growing network of Oasis communities across Canada. Oasis is an innovative, member-driven model that enables older adults living in naturally occurring retirement communities and other community settings to identify their priorities and co-create activities that foster social connection, movement, healthy nutrition, and aging well in community. As the national hub, Oasis National facilitates learning, connection, shared resources, quality improvement, and sustainable growth across current and future sites.

Reporting to the Director of Oasis National, the inaugural National Site Development and Support Coordinator is the primary relationship and capacity-building lead for the Oasis site network. The coordinator builds trusted relationships with site leads, coordinators, members, host organizations, and community partners; supports the development and launch of new sites; and helps established sites strengthen member engagement, program delivery, local partnerships, and long-term sustainability.

The coordinator translates the Oasis model into practical tools, with training and coaching to support the communities of practice while respecting local context and the principle that older adults guide the development of their own Oasis community. Working closely with Oasis National colleagues and the research team, the coordinator tracks network needs and performance, shares promising practices, troubleshoots barriers, and uses evidence and site experience to inform continuous improvement.

Job Description
Key responsibilities:
Site relationships, engagement, and support
• Build and maintain strong, responsive relationships with Oasis site leads, coordinators, members, host organizations, and regional or community partners across Canada.
• Serve as the central point of contact for site-development and program-support inquiries, providing timely coaching, problem solving, resource navigation, and follow-up.
• Establish regular touchpoints with sites to understand local priorities, strengths, risks, and emerging support needs.
• Facilitate peer connection and knowledge exchange across the network through communities of practice, working groups, webinars, and other shared-learning forums.
• Support sites to strengthen meaningful older-adult participation, shared decision-making, inclusive engagement, and locally responsive programming.
• Identify concerns that may affect quality, relationships, reputation, safety, or sustainability and escalate significant issues to the Director as appropriate.

New-site development and onboarding:
• Respond to and assess expressions of interest from prospective sites and community partners, applying established readiness criteria and documenting recommendations.
• Guide prospective sites through exploration, readiness, partnership development, implementation planning, and launch.
• Support local relationship building with older adults, housing providers, community organizations, health and social-service partners, funders, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate onboarding, orientation, implementation milestones, agreements, and access to required tools and resources.
• Help new sites adapt the Oasis model to local context while maintaining fidelity to its core principles and standards.
• Maintain a clear pipeline of prospective and developing sites and provide regular progress, risk, and forecast updates to the Director.

Training, tools, and capacity building:
• Assess learning and capacity-building needs across the network and contribute to an annual training and site-support plan.
• Develop, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate onboarding sessions, workshops, webinars, facilitation guides, templates, toolkits, and other practical resources.
• Support site leaders and coordinators in community development, member engagement, partnership building, volunteer involvement, program planning, and local problem solving.
• Maintain and curate the Oasis Network Library so sites can easily access current, useful, and consistent resources.
• Identify and share promising practices, emerging evidence, and relevant trends in aging, community development, naturally occurring retirement communities, and social connection.
• Engage internal and external subject-matter experts when specialized learning or technical assistance is needed.

Site sustainability and network growth:
• Work with sites to identify practical approaches to local sustainability, including partnership development, resource planning, volunteer capacity, sponsorship, grants, and in-kind support.
• Support sites to develop action plans that respond to identified risks, participation challenges, leadership transitions, or operational barriers.
• Contribute to national strategies for thoughtful network growth, site retention, and consistent site experience.
• Help develop and maintain standards, service expectations, affiliation agreements, and renewal processes in collaboration with the Director.
• Represent Oasis National at conferences, webinars, community meetings, and other forums to build awareness and cultivate appropriate site-development opportunities.

Evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement:
• Maintain accurate site, partner, relationship, and activity records in Oasis National's customer or constituent relationship management system and shared platforms.
• Develop and monitor practical indicators related to site pipeline, onboarding progress, engagement, training participation, site health, retention, and sustainability.
• Prepare concise quarterly reports and dashboards for the Director and, as required, the Board or advisory bodies.
• Gather feedback from sites and members and use it to improve training, resources, service standards, and support approaches.
• Collaborate with the Oasis research team to support appropriate information flow, knowledge mobilization, evaluation, and alignment between evidence and practice.
• Contribute site intelligence, stories, and impact information to funding proposals, reports, communications, and organizational planning.

Collaboration and organizational contribution
• Work collaboratively with the Director, Program Administrator, communications resources, research partners, and contractors to coordinate priorities and provide a coherent experience to sites.
• Support national gatherings and special initiatives, including site participation, content development, facilitation, and follow-up.
• Contribute to policies, procedures, annual planning, budget development, and risk management related to the site network.
• Advance an organizational culture grounded in respect, trust, learning, inclusion, accessibility, accountability, and service.
• Perform other related duties that are consistent with the purpose and level of the position.
Expected outcomes and deliverables:
• A current site-support and engagement plan, including regular touchpoints and documented follow-up.
• A well-managed prospective-site pipeline with readiness assessments, onboarding plans, milestones, risks, and recommendations.
• A coordinated annual training calendar and a current, accessible library of practical site resources.
• Active communities of practice and documented opportunities for peer learning and knowledge exchange.
• Accurate relationship-management records and quarterly network reports covering growth, engagement, site health, support activity, and emerging needs.
• Site-specific sustainability or improvement plans where additional support is required.
• Evidence-informed recommendations that improve the consistency, quality, reach, and sustainability of the Oasis network.

Required Qualifications:
• University degree in community development, health or social sciences, gerontology, nonprofit management, public administration, adult education, or a related field.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in community development, network or membership support, program implementation, capacity building, or a related role, preferably in a nonprofit, community, health, housing, or aging-services environment.
• Demonstrated success building trusted relationships and working collaboratively with diverse community partners, volunteers, and people with lived experience.
• Experience supporting the development, launch, or improvement of community-based programs across more than one site or region.
• Experience designing and facilitating engaging training, workshops, communities of practice, or other adult-learning activities.
• Experience developing practical tools, processes, reports, and performance measures and using feedback or data for continuous improvement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort presenting to varied audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and shared digital platforms; ability to learn and use customer or constituent relationship management systems.
• Ability to travel within Canada and to work occasional evenings or adjusted hours to support sites across time zones.
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Assets:
• Knowledge of aging well, naturally occurring retirement communities, age-friendly communities, social prescribing, health promotion, or community-based services for older adults.
• Experience working directly with older adults and supporting member-led or participatory approaches.
• Experience with nonprofit sustainability, grant development, sponsorship, partnership agreements, or diversified local resourcing.
• Experience working in a national, federated, network, membership, or bilingual environment.
