Course Number and Name: TMU231H1 - Music Theory IV
Course Description: Post-tonal theory and analysis. Study of compositional practices in music written after 1900.
Class Schedule: Section 1: Mondays & Wednesdays 1-2pm
Section 2: Mondays & Wednesdays 2-3pm
Months of contract: January to April 2027
Salary: $19,994.96
Estimated Course Enrollment: 55 per section
TA support: yes
Qualifications: Doctoral degree in music theory. Extensive knowledge of post-tonal theories and music theory pedagogy. Demonstrated excellence teaching music theory at the university level.
Duties: Define course objectives; prepare course materials; provide clear guidelines on course requirements and regulations; teach classes as scheduled; administer and evaluate student assignments; prepare and submit final grades in accordance with policy. Maintain reasonable hours of student consultation outside scheduled class hours.
