Senior Account Manager, Agriculture

Your role:

• Develop and execute business development strategies to drive sustainable growth across your assigned territory.
• Build and manage a portfolio of agricultural clients by delivering proactive advice and tailored financing solutions.
• Analyze client portfolios to identify opportunities and anticipate evolving financing, cash management, and investment needs.
• Establish strong relationships within the agricultural community and become a trusted advisor to clients and industry stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal partners and specialists to provide comprehensive solutions that support client success.
• Structure and negotiate financing arrangements while balancing client needs, risk considerations, and profitability objectives.
• Maintain a strong understanding of agricultural production sectors, market dynamics, and emerging industry trends.
• Represent National Bank at industry events, trade shows, associations, and networking activities throughout Atlantic Canada.
• Ensure the overall quality, growth, and profitability of the loan and deposit portfolio through sound risk management practices.

Your team:

You will join National Bank's Commercial Banking and Private Banking 1859 sector, within a team dedicated to supporting the growth and success of agricultural businesses across Atlantic Canada.

Based in Halifax, you will work closely with colleagues and specialized partners throughout the region to serve clients across Nova Scotia and other Atlantic provinces. You'll be supported by a network of experts in credit, cash management, investments, risk management, and wealth planning, enabling you to provide comprehensive advice and customized solutions.

Reporting to the Vice President & Head, Atlantic Canada, you will play a key role in strengthening National Bank's presence in the region's agricultural sector and helping clients achieve their long-term business goals.

Required qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree, university certificate, or master's degree in a related field, combined with relevant experience.
• Significant experience within the agriculture industry.
• Proven success in business development, relationship management, and portfolio growth.
• Strong understanding of agricultural operations and production sectors.
• Ability to establish credibility and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel throughout Atlantic Canada to meet clients and support business development activities.
