Position Overview
As an Assistant Project Manager working on the WAHA Redevelopment Project at Pomerleau Construction, you will play a key role in managing this large scale project – working closely with our client groups and subcontractors, and acting as an integral part of our projects team. The WAHA Redevelopment Project is a 1.8B transformative initiative in Northern Ontario aimed at strengthening healthcare for communities through the delivery of a state‑of‑the‑art hospital and healthcare facility. Location: Moosonee, Ontario – 14/7 rotation. Responsibilities Assist and guide the project team with coordination and project support. Effectively review, interpret and update construction schedules. Maintain, review and follow up on shop drawings, RFIs, material purchase orders, change notice quotes and project completion documents. Collect, review and analyze project quotes to obtain the best prices in the market. Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection – apply project-specific safety standards to promote Pomerleau’s HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations and codes with all employees and trade partners. Support building positive relationships with subtrades, clients and project stakeholders. Qualifications Roughly 3+ years of experience in the construction industry. University degree or technology diploma in engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience. Strong knowledge of construction project methodologies, financial management, building codes and associated legislation. Proven track record of project leadership and team collaboration.
