Full Stack Developer (Java/Angular)

Position Description
CGI is seeking skilled Java Full Stack Developers to join our growing team and contribute to enterprise digital transformation initiatives. We are looking for professionals with 4+ years of experience who are passionate about designing, developing, and delivering scalable, cloud-native applications using modern Java and Angular technologies.

In this role, you'll work as part of Agile delivery teams to design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Angular, and cloud technologies. You'll collaborate with solution architects, developers, business analysts, QA specialists, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, high-quality software that supports critical business operations.

These are full-time permanent opportunities based in Halifax, NS; Moncton, NB; or Stratford, PEI. Successful candidates must be willing to work onsite five days per week from one of CGI's offices.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Develop responsive web applications using Angular and modern frontend technologies.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrate applications with enterprise systems.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
• Build applications using Hibernate and JPA for data persistence.
• Deploy and support cloud-native applications using AWS services.
• Develop containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, or similar DevOps tools.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and production support activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of experience developing enterprise Java applications.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and REST API development.
• Experience developing applications using microservices architecture.
• Experience developing modern web applications using Angular.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server, including SQL development.
• Experience using Hibernate and JPA.
• Experience working with AWS cloud services.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.

Assets
The following qualifications would be considered assets:
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Experience with Jenkins, uDeploy, or similar deployment tools.
• Experience with event-driven architectures or messaging technologies.
• Experience working within the banking or financial services industry.
• Experience designing high-availability, cloud-native enterprise applications.
