We are inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the position of Manager of Special Engineering Projects. Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Utilities, the successful candidate will be responsible for responsibilities associated with providing engineering analysis, design, and all associated engineering support, feasibility and establishment of new services, and asset management to all Electoral Area Utility Services, particularly Wastewater Service, but not limited to, those services pertaining to water and drainage, and other Engineering and Utilities services programs. The ideal candidate will possess:

• A degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a diploma in Engineering Technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education - other credentials and related experience may be considered depending on the knowledge and experience;
• Must have AScT, or RTMgr, or P.Eng. designation;
• Preferably a minimum of seven years experience in the field of wastewater, water, and storm water systems, with an emphasis in civil infrastructure work in these areas, including asset and risk management;
• Preferably a minimum of five years supervisory experience in a local government setting or consulting environment along with demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a team based environment;
• Knowledge and understanding of water and wastewater including Trucked Liquid Waste (TLW) service delivery requirements and best practices as they relate to this position collection, treatment, and disposal of TLW. This role ensures understanding of compliance with environmental regulations and understands the efficient operation of wastewater treatment facilities;
• Demonstrated operational, technical, procurement and administrative skills as they relate to the position; The ability to develop conceptual plans and conduct feasibility studies;
• Demonstrated budget administration skills and an understanding of local governments financing;
• Excellent writing skills along with excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; and
• Strong project management and organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple technically complex and challenging projects.

This exempt position has an annual salary range of $100,000.00 to $115,000.00 (based on 35 hours per week). The salary for this position will be pro-rated based on 21 hours per week plus 16% in lieu of benefits.
