Expected Start Date: August 10, 2026 Union: HSAS Facility: Population and Public Health - Regina City/Town: Regina Department: Community Recovery Services Type: Full-time temporary Expected Up to Date: March 05, 2027 FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: Shift of 8 hours Relief: No Float: NoHours of Work: Standard Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Addictions Counsellor - Degree $34.509 to $42.199 Travel Required: Yes Job : As a member of the Community Recovery Services and under the general direction of the Manager of CRS the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of youth, young adults and adults with severe and persistent mental illness, seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues. Responsibilities include assessment & screening, individual & group counseling, case management & educational sessions. Education
- Bachelor of Chemical Dependency
- Degree in Addiction Counseling
- Degree in Human Services (Social Work, Psychology, Registered Nurse)
Experience
- 1 yr exp working with a concurrent disorder population in a community setting.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Knowledge in development model of recovery (SMRS)
- Ability to provide individual, group and crisis management counselling skills
- Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Model of Recovery Services
- Knowledge of how addictions impacts the individual, community and families
- Familiarity with community programs/resources required for psycho-social rehab
