Accountant Director - Foreign Division (Philippines) (Longueuil)

Job Description

In collaboration with the managers of HMBP Inc., the selected candidate will maintain the established international division in the Philippines. Initially, the candidate will act as a liaison between the teams in Montreal and those in the Philippines, training and managing subcontractors based in the Philippines to meet the needs of partners and directors in Montreal. The candidate will also be responsible for establishing a division owned by HMBP Inc. in the Philippines through a Canadian company, with the aim of gradually phasing out the subcontracting model and reducing HMBP Inc.’s reliance on external subcontractors. Upon approval, the candidate will set up a team in Montreal. Responsibilities

Act as liaison between Montreal and Philippine teams. Train and manage subcontractors in the Philippines to meet partner/director needs. Establish a Philippine division through a Canadian company. Phase out subcontracting and reduce reliance on external subcontractors. Set up the Montreal team upon approval. Qualifications

Be functionally trilingual, an asset: French, English, Tagalog. Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Possess the CPA designation in Canada or the Philippines, an asset. Minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting firm or corporate environment. Possess a solid understanding of current legislation and regulations in the Philippines. Have a good understanding of the regulatory services in place in the Philippines and have been exposed to them in previous skilled experiences. Exposure to the payroll accounting cycle and its functioning in the Philippines is a plus. Some experience and skills in team management, including coaching and training. Good knowledge of various accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Simple Accounting, and MS Office software) or the ability to demonstrate the capacity to acquire such knowledge. Excellent knowledge of Taxprep and Caseware software. Ability to work under pressure while respecting deadlines and commitments. Capable of producing accounting documents in French in writing; speaking French is an asset. Experience working with healthcare professionals is an asset.
