SCIEX, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Staff Scientist to lead proteomics workflow development and customer demonstrations on mass spectrometry platforms. The role involves creating analytical methods, supporting global field teams, and translating customer feedback into product requirements.
Responsibilities
- Execute advanced proteomics customer-sample demonstrations on SCIEX mass spectrometry platforms tailored to customer needs
- Develop, validate and maintain analytical methods, SOPs, benchmarks and reference data for reproducible results
- Establish demonstration-readiness standards including workflow protocols, instrument configuration and acceptance criteria
- Provide scientific leadership and technical coaching to global field application scientists and regional demo laboratories
- Design customer evaluations and scientific collaborations, translating findings into product requirements and competitive advantages
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in analytical chemistry, chemistry, biochemistry, or life sciences with 20+ years experience; or Master's with 10+ years; or PhD with 7+ years proteomics experience
- Hands-on expertise with liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry workflows and complex sample preparation
- Experience developing, optimizing and troubleshooting analytical methods across diverse biological sample types
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver customer-facing scientific demonstrations using experimental data
- Experience authoring and maintaining controlled technical documentation such as SOPs and validation reports
- Ability to collaborate across commercial, applications, product development and regulatory teams
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to customer sites and scientific meetings
Compensation: CAD 150,000–CAD 190,000 base, plus eligible for bonus/incentive pay
