The Durham District School Board acknowledges that many Indigenous Nations have longstanding relationships, both historic and modern, with the territories upon which our school board and schools are located. Today, this area is home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island. As a Long-Term Occasional Teacher (LTO) for DDSB, you'll create a vibrant and supportive learning environment where students thrive. You'll bring your passion for teaching to the classroom, guiding students through their educational journey and fostering a love for learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and support student learning.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to help students grow.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to enhance student learning.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.

Qualifications and additional information:

• Grade(s)/assignments: Prep Coverage
• Required subject qualifications: Primary/Junior/Intermediate
• FTE: 0.2
• Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing
• Elementary LTO Salary Range: $53,352 to $119,967/year (Placement on salary grid is based on QECO rating and teaching experience. Salary will be pro-rated based on the position FTE).

Please note the following:

• External hires can take up to 10 working days to be processed which could affect the start date for this position

• A Long Term Occasional Teacher may not rescind a Long Term Assignment for the purpose of apply for and accepting a different Long Term Assignment. An OT who is in a Long Term Assignment may accept more than one Long Term Assignment so long as the acceptance of one does not require the rescinding of another. Nothing in this provision precludes a Long Term Occasional Teacher from rescinding a Long Term Assignment for the purposes of applying for and accepting a permanent position.
