Lead Hand, Service Techncian

Job Title: Commercial, ServiceTechnician Lead Hand (ODT1–ODT2)
Hourly Rate: $36.68 – $43.70
Location: Kelowna, British Columbia

We have a strong backlog of work and are looking for the right team members to join our crew! As our business continues to grow, there are abundant opportunities to install and service a wide variety of equipment types and manufacturers. In this role, you will lead a crew on certain projects and work independently on others, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial and industrial doors, door operating systems, gate operating systems, and dock leveling equipment.

This is a field-based position that requires working in a variety of weather conditions and industrial environments, which may include exposure to dirt, dust, oil, and other job site conditions.

Responsibilities 

• Install, service, and repair residential garage doors, entry doors, and related hardware.


• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, performing repairs and preventive maintenance as required.


• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain professional relationships with customers and contractors.


• Complete work orders, timekeeping, and service documentation accurately and on time.


• Maintain company vehicle, tools, inventory, and truck stock.


• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and industry standards.


• Support team training, continuous improvement initiatives, and company goals.


• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications  

• 3+ years of experience installing and servicing commercial door systems, including rolling steel doors, high-speed doors, sectional doors, dock levelers, automated entrances, gates, and man doors. Related experience will also be considered.


• Welding and/or electrical experience is an asset.


• Ability to travel and participate in after-hours, weekend, and on-call work as required.


• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.


• Strong mechanical aptitude and proven troubleshooting skills.


• Physically capable of performing demanding field work and working at heights.


• Proficient with hand and power tools.


• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities.


• Customer-focused with strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Adaptable, dependable, and safety-conscious.High school diploma or equivalent.


• Ability to successfully pass a background check.


• Basic math and problem-solving skills
