Job Description
The Construction Helper plays a vital role in supporting skilled tradespeople by preparing job sites, handling materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position involves frequent travel to multiple sites and the use of manual tools and equipment. Construction Helpers work closely with a single skilled tradesperson, providing essential assistance that supports the overall project workflow. There are opportunities to advance into skilled trades through demonstrated skill and experience development.
Responsibilities
- Handle and transport materials to support construction activities
- Prepare job sites for construction tasks
- Remove debris and maintain cleanliness of the work area
- Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment
- Provide direct assistance to a skilled tradesperson on-site
- Perform basic carpentry tasks as needed
- Clean sites thoroughly to ensure safety and organization
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Dependable vehicle
- Basic carpentry knowledge
- Experience in material handling
- Physical stamina to endure manual labor and frequent travel
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Awareness of construction site safety and procedures
- Willingness to learn
- Clean police record
