Senior ETL Developer (10+ years) to design and implement scalable data architectures using Google Cloud Platform - 40883
Our financial services client is seeking a Senior ETL Developer (10+ years) to design and implement scalable data architectures using Google Cloud Platform .
Join a dedicated AML Technology team driving a strategic AI initiative for Tangerine within one of Canada’s leading banks. This role focuses on sourcing, transforming, and integrating data across GCP and Oracle-based environments supporting high-profile AML processes and FINTRAC reporting. The position offers strong visibility and collaboration with architects, stakeholders, and cross‑functional technology teams on a high‑impact data modernization project.
Location Address: Toronto - Hybrid – 1 day/week (Thursdays)
Subject to change: 3–4 days onsite may be required based on business needs
Contract Duration: ASAP to end of Jan 2027 – approx. 6.5 months
Number of Positions: 1
Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week
Must Haves
- 10+ years in data engineering , ETL development , and analytics delivery
- Hands‑on proficiency with Google Cloud Platform
- Advanced Python scripting experience
- Practical experience with BigQuery
- Exposure to Cloud Composer / Apache Airflow
- Post‑secondary education in a technical or relevant field
Nice to Have
- Experience with Microsoft Azure
- Proficiency in Java, Scala, SQL
- Experience with Dataflow, Dataproc, DBT, Databricks
- Experience in database development
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable data architectures and analytical models
- Develop, deploy, and maintain large‑scale ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and streaming data
- Build and manage orchestration workflows
- Optimize data storage, query performance, and processing efficiency
- Enable reporting and dashboard solutions using modern visualization platforms
- Support DevOps and CI/CD practices for data platforms
- Ensure data quality, governance, and metadata management standards are met
