Clinical Consultant (R.Psych) - Internal Candidates Only

In this role, you'll work in partnership with our Director of Counselling to provide an additional clinical perspective when psychology-specific expertise or same-designation consultation would support practice. This role is intended to complement the clinical leadership of our Director of Counselling while recognizing and valuing the expertise held across professional designations. Provide focused consultation regarding complex or higher-risk clinical situations, ethical questions, professional boundaries, documentation, scope of practice, and psychology-specific standards or regulatory considerations. Offer psychology-specific analysis where regulatory, competency, documentation, assessment, or professional-practice considerations would benefit from additional expertise. Contribute to requested reviews of clinical policies, protocols, procedures, tools, programs, services, partnerships, or models of care. Provide clinical input when leadership is considering complex client concerns, incidents, or complaints. Recognize the limits of your competence and identify when regulatory, legal, supervisory, jurisdiction-specific, or other specialist consultation may be required. Work collaboratively with the Director of Counselling and other applicable organizational leaders when clinical recommendations may have broader organizational implications. Requests for Clinical Consultant involvement will be coordinated through the Director of Counselling to help clarify the consultation question, required expertise, urgency, and any relevant organizational considerations. The Director of Counselling will continue to hold responsibility for organizational clinical decision-making within their role. It is not a day-to-day therapist management position, routine clinical support role, performance management function, formal supervision relationship, or standing on-call position. Strong understanding of applicable psychology standards, ethical requirements, and professional expectations Strong working knowledge of psychology-specific scope of practice, competence, confidentiality, documentation, professional boundaries, and regulatory considerations Experience reviewing clinical policies, protocols, procedures, or tools. Interest in continued growth in clinical consultation, practice leadership, policy development, or organizational clinical work. This will be an internal contract position with irregular hours, in addition to the successful applicant's existing therapist role. areas where psychology-specific consultation is most useful; overlap with existing clinical consultation or supervision pathways; This role will operate remotely, and therefore is open to Registered Psychologists across our entire organization.
