Job Summary

Tutor Needed for Accounting and Economics (Grades 11 & 12) - Muskoka Region

Prep Academy Tutors is currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable tutor specialized in Grade 11 and Grade 12 Accounting and Economics. This unique opportunity involves working with a student over the summer at their family cottage on beautiful Lake Joseph, Muskoka. This position is perfect for those who enjoy combining their love for teaching with the serene backdrop of Muskoka's natural landscape.

The student is located near Lake Joseph, approximately 40 minutes from Parry Sound, Muskoka. Specific details will be provided upon selection; however, applicants should be aware that this position requires travel to a location on Lake Joseph.

The tutoring sessions will take place during the summer months. The selected candidate must be available to commit to this schedule and be flexible in terms of travel to the student's cottage.

You are required to:

• Provide academic support to students based on expertise and knowledge from the Ontario curriculum.
• Provide supplemental assignments to students to help promote a greater understanding of the material.
• Provide remedial and enrichment support for students.
• You communicate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress
• Proven experience and expertise in teaching or tutoring Accounting and Economics at the high school level.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A reliable means of transportation to the Muskoka region, specifically near Lake Joseph.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for teachers or soon-to-be teachers who can meet the following criteria:

• Committed to providing excellent customer service
• Enjoy working with students & families
• Great communication skills
• Provide personalized instruction in Grade 11 and 12 Accounting and Economics.
• Develop engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to the student's individual needs and learning style.
• Monitor and report on the student's progress.
• Travel to the student's cottage on Lake Joseph for each tutoring session.

A qualified applicant will meet at least one of the following criteria:

• You hold registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
• You are qualified to teach in a Canadian Province/Territory outside of Ontario
• You are a current teacher candidate; pursuing a bachelor of education
• You have experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited Canadian University or College

Compensation:

• $50 per hour, recognizing the commitment and travel involved in this role.
• Each tutoring session will be guaranteed a minimum of 2.5 hours.
