Lead Python Developer (MongoDB/Node.js/TypeScript)

About the roleAs a Lead Python Developer (MongoDB/Node.js/TypeScript), you will make an impact by designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performing applications and integration solutions within a complex financial services environment. You will combine hands-on development expertise with technical leadership to help define solution architecture, integration patterns, and cloud-based solutions.In this role, you will:• Design and develop scalable applications, microservices, APIs, and integration solutions using Python, Node.js, TypeScript, and MongoDB.• Provide technical leadership in defining solution architectures, identifying gaps between current and target states, and recommending scalable solutions.• Design and support REST APIs and integrations across on-premises, cloud, third-party, and document management systems.• Build solutions that support large data volumes while considering performance, security, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture requirements.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cloud, DevOps, data integration, and security best practices.Work modelWe believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Rest assured, we will always be clear about role expectations.What you need to have to be considered• 8+ years of experience designing and developing software solutions involving distributed computing, microservices, APIs, and enterprise integrations• Strong development experience within financial services.• Strong hands-on development experience with Python, Node.js, TypeScript, MongoDB, REST APIs, and JSON.• Experience designing and delivering large-scale data platforms and enterprise solutions, including integrations with third-party systems and document management systems.• Experience with cloud architecture, microservices, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, Linux, Windows, DevOps, and data integration technologies.• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field, with strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.These will help you stand out• Experience within Capital Markets or related financial services environments.• Knowledge of data fabric, data mesh, and enterprise data architecture principles.• Understanding of security technologies and practices, including single sign-on, Enterprise Mobility Management, BYOK, data masking, and Data Loss Prevention.• Cloud certification in AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).• Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and working within Agile and Scrum delivery environments.We're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD $75,000 - CAD $117,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications.
