Technical Lead for Quantum Control Systems
Q-Block Computing
Lead the real-time orchestration control at Q-Block Computing in Ottawa. Oversee the architecture and deliver exceptional performance for quantum hardware platforms. Q-Block Computing is seeking a Technical Lead for Orchestration Control to unify firmware, infrastructure, and systems engineering within its cutting-edge projects. This senior leadership role requires expertise in embedded firmware, real-time systems, and application-layer software, ensuring cohesive system integrity from architecture to delivery. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams while managing the technical roadmap and mentoring engineers. Key Responsibilities:
- Define architecture for the orchestration control stack
- Establish performance specifications for system-level requirements
- Design command and scheduling frameworks for control nodes
- Lead technical planning across firmware and systems engineering
- Maintain integration test strategies with detailed acceptance criteria
- Bachelor’s in a relevant engineering field; advanced degrees are preferred
- 10+ years in embedded systems, including 4 years in leadership
- Proven record of delivering production hardware-software systems
- Strong grasp of real-time system principles
- Evidence of leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams
