Hays Specialist Recruitment is partnering with a large, well-established organization operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to hire a Recruiter for a short-term contract. This opportunity has arisen to provide coverage during a leave and is ideal for a recruiter who thrives in high-volume environments and can quickly step in and make an impact.

You will be joining a collaborative Talent Acquisition team supporting a wide range of operational and corporate hiring needs in a high-demand workforce setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment across a diverse portfolio of roles, including operations, skilled trades, and corporate functions
• Handle a high-volume requisition load (approximately 25–35 roles at a time; team managing ~85 open roles overall)
• Partner closely with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and deliver timely recruitment support
• Source, screen, and assess candidates for roles including unionized positions, shift-based operations staff, and corporate professionals (e.g., HR, accounting)
• Coordinate interviews and manage candidate communications throughout the hiring process
• Maintain accurate and organized candidate records within the ATS (Taleo or similar)
• Provide market insights and recruitment guidance to stakeholders as needed
• Ensure a positive candidate experience while working under tight timelines

What You Need to Succeed

• 3–5 years of recruitment experience, ideally in high-volume environments
• Strong experience recruiting for unionized roles (approx. 85% of hiring portfolio) — must have
• Proven ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously in a fast-paced setting
• Experience handling full-cycle recruitment independently
• Familiarity with ATS platforms (Taleo is an asset)
• Ability to hit the ground running with minimal training or ramp-up time
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Highly organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize shifting demands
