We are also on a bus route, with a stop just outside of the hotel, and our complimentary shuttle also picks up our employees from the bus loop at UBCO!
What will you be doing?
- Greet guests in a friendly, engaging manner and assist with drink/food recommendations
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea and specialty beverages
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other beverage making equipment
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Operate the POS for processing customer transactions efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness in the coffee preparation and serving areas
- Uphold food safety standards in food handling and preparation
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer inquiries and concerns promptly
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods
- Demonstrate a complete knowledge and understanding of the sequence of service, food and beverage service standards, and all other service standards.
- Have full and complete knowledge of all menus
- Ability to answer any guest question about food items, beverages and wines in an informative and helpful way.
- Additional duties as assigned by Management
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience working as a Barista
- Serving it Right Certificate
- Experience working in the food service industry preferred
- Food & Beverage knowledge an asset
- Exceptional organization with attention to accuracy and problem-solving ability
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude.
- Team player, with willingness to learn new concepts and ideas.
- Passion for food, beverage and providing excellent customer service.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to stand and be on your feet for long periods of time.
