Fibre Specialist - Unified Fibre Planning (West)

Who We Are

Reporting to the Unified Fibre Planning Senior Manager (West), the Fibre Specialist plays a key role in delivering fibre optic solutions and supporting network growth across Rogers' cable territory. Working closely with network designers and planning specialists, this role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of HFC and fibre optic plant design, and experience supporting technical teams and troubleshooting fibre circuits in a dynamic, evolving environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and deliver fibre optic projects of varying complexity, ensuring alignment with network growth and technology advancements
• Develop and communicate high-level cost estimates and network deployment standards
• Analyze and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Plan and document end-to-end fibre solutions, ensuring data integrity of existing fibre assets
• Provide detailed instructions to internal teams for successful project execution
• Review business and engineering requirements to deliver reliable fibre solutions
• Recommend design alternatives to optimize network performance and scalability
• Prepare project status reports and communicate updates to management and stakeholders

What You'll Bring

• Relevant experience in Outside Plant Engineering or fibre network design
  • Strong knowledge of HFC and fibre optic networks; experience in telecommunications is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and SpatialNET
  • Post-secondary education in telecommunications, civil engineering, or a related field
  • Experience managing multiple high-volume projects with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with Rogers Wireline Access Network is an asset
  • Experience in coaxial and fibre optic design, cable construction, and civil construction processes is an asset
  • Strong presentation skills and a customer-focused, solution-oriented mindset
