You as an Area Accountant will: 

• 
  

  Ensure timely and accurate approval and processing of purchases/invoices pertaining to EllisDon’s Digital and Data Engineering division



• 
  

  Manage the month-end close process for certain companies within EllisDon’s Digital and Data Engineering division, and prepare monthly reporting packages for Head Office



• 
  

  Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial analysis to compare actuals to budget



• 
  

  Prepare and record journal entries and cost allocations to ensure items are coded to the GL appropriately



• 
  

  Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts



• 
  

  Support with A/R collection and perform A/R duties such as cash receipts and bank reconciliations



• 
  

  Prepare financial statements and monthly reporting packages for the management team



• 
  

  Assist with corporate month end internal reporting and external audits



• 
  

  Assist the Head Office accounting department with other special projects as needed



• Assist with accounting software updates and testing as required

Is this the right role for you? 

• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience


• Well-organized, proactive and detail oriented; able to self-manage and work as part of a team in a dynamic fast paced environment


• Excellent communication skills


• Technical accountant with strong attention to detail and can offer process improvements and innovative solutions


• Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel


• Occasional travel to the Mississauga Office
