What you will do:
· Regulate the flow of service through the department
· Schedule shop work as efficiently as possible in accordance with dealership policy.
· Assign work to technicians in a fair and equitable manner by technician skill.
· Verify completion of work by technicians to ensure all assigned work has been properly completed.
· Assist in the review of repair orders for completeness. i.e. 3 c’s
· Work closely with Service Management to ensure that all repair orders are closed out on a timely basis.
· Act as a “control” for Internal / external Sublet repair including the issue of purchase order.
· To assist technicians in Selling estimates in the event that the Service Advisors are occupied or absent.
· Advise all Service staff of technician’s absences.
· Monitor all RO’s which are on hold for various reasons.
· Attend departmental meetings.
· Works in co-operation with Service Advisors to ensure proper administrative requirements are achieved.
· Ensure promised times are met - directs problems with unrealistic time promises to the Service Management to handle.
· Follows up on all delayed jobs
