As a Senior Systems Developer, you will be part of key strategic initiatives at Sovereign Insurance, building insurance solutions, integrations and implementing Guidewire PolicyCenter.

How you will create impact:

• Building integrations using microservices, delivering complex integration logics to integrate our legacy and cloud platforms
• Implement scalable and reliable server-side logic for handling user requests, data processing, and business logic.
• Optimize performance and scalability of backend systems to ensure smooth operation under high load conditions.

• Work closely with end PO's and BA's, to understand business needs, conduct gap analysis and requirements assessments as needed
• Partner with Solution & Enterprise Architect teams on the most effective design and integration patterns.
• Be involved in the full life cycle of a project, responsible for producing actionable and complete specifications, writing production quality code, implementation and post-production support.
• Improve the end user experience by finding scalable solutions and addressing complex ad hoc queries.
• Collaborating with internal/external Technology teams, vendor partners and project management to ensure open communication and quality/timely deliverables
• Mentoring, supporting and collaborating with team members to ensure THE TEAM succeeds!

To join our team:

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology or Computer Science with at least 5-9 years of experience in Technology industries.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java17+ SpringBoot3 and related technologies.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS or RedHat Cloud.
• DevOps Practices: Experience with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment (CI/CD) e.g. Jenkins, including version control systems e.g. Git, containerization e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, vault etc.
• Experience with Kafka or similar event streaming platform in Microservices to ensure real time data flow between the consumer and producers.
• Hands on in Core Java, Multithreading, Transactions, Exception Handling and Collections.
• Experience in unit testing using Jasmine, JUnit, Mockito, Karma, Swagger, Splunk, Helm, NeuVector or similar tools.
• Experience working in an Agile environment, with experience and understanding of Test-Driven Development methodology.
• Work with databases such as DB2, MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL to store and retrieve data efficiently.
• Design and optimize database schemas and queries to support application requirements.
• Implement data migration, backup, and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
