Job Title: Driver Trainer Location: Winnipeg, MB Company: First Student Canada Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary: First Student is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Driver Trainer to join our team in Winnipeg. The Driver Trainer plays a key role in ensuring our drivers are well-prepared, confident, and compliant with all safety and operational standards. This position involves training new hires, conducting refresher courses, and supporting continuous improvement in driver performance. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver classroom and behind-the-wheel training for new and existing drivers.
- Ensure all training meets company, provincial, and federal safety standards.
- Conduct evaluations and road tests to assess driver readiness.
- Provide coaching and feedback to improve driving habits and safety awareness.
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
- Support accident investigations and retraining as needed.
- Collaborate with the Location Manager and Safety team to identify training needs.
- Promote a culture of safety and professionalism.
Qualifications: - Valid Class 2 driver's license with air brake endorsement.
- Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience (school bus or commercial vehicle preferred).
- Previous experience in training or coaching drivers is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead classroom sessions and hands-on training.
- Comfortable using basic computer systems for recordkeeping and reporting.
- Knowledge of Manitoba traffic laws and commercial vehicle regulations.
