Strategic Finance Associate

About you:

We are seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Strategic Finance Associate to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and wants to make a direct impact on a growing medtech organization. You will build and own financial models, develop a deep understanding of our business, and collaborate across teams to support planning and strategic decisions. We are looking for someone who combines excellent modelling skills with commercial curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

What you'll do:

• Financial Modelling: Build, maintain, and improve financial models that connect revenue, operating expenses, working capital, and cash flow.

• Business Analysis: Develop a deep understanding of our business model, product economics, and operational drivers, translating business inputs into well-supported financial assumptions.

• Scenario Planning: Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate opportunities, assess risks, and understand the financial impact of key decisions.

• Strategic Decision Support: Prepare financial analyses and business cases for new initiatives, pricing decisions, capital investments, and growth opportunities.

• Financial Planning: Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning through the development of detailed, driver-based models.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with commercial, manufacturing, R&D, and other teams to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and evaluate financial trade-offs.

• Leadership Reporting: Prepare clear summaries and presentations that communicate financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

• Process Improvement: Establish consistent modelling practices, document assumptions, and improve the accuracy, usability, and efficiency of financial models and analytical tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

• 2 to 3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, strategic finance, transaction advisory, or consulting with significant financial modelling exposure.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, with demonstrated ability to build financial models from scratch and independently own modelling work.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and the relationships between the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.

• Ability to translate complex business questions into structured analyses and practical recommendations.

• Experience working in the medtech, life sciences, or manufacturing industry is an asset.

• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication skills, commercial curiosity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

The salary range for this position is $100,000-$120,000 annually. Compensation will be determined based on the individual’s demonstrated experience, education, training, relevant certifications or licensure, and other applicable business and organizational factors.
