DRS Pivotal Power is part of the Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics group and has currently over 30,000 fielded units boasting a field reliability of over 99%. Job Summary Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Material Handler will be responsible for day to day receiving, order picking, and delivery to our production team. They will work on site at our location in Bedford, NS. Job Responsibilities - Load, unload and move materials within or near plant, warehouse, storage facility or worksite.
- Work with the team to improve current system, functions, and daily operations to more effectively meet goals
- Maintain system critical data elements
- May monitor shipping performance to Delivery Tracking Schedule (DTS) and ensure movement of product from production through packaging to shipping
- Perform materials analysis and maintains records as required in support of cycle counting operations and performance measurement
- Read work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
- Open containers using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools
- Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
- Load materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools
- Convey materials to or from storage or worksites to designated areas to include the manufacturing floor by use of hand truck, electric dolly, Forklift, or other device
- Count, weigh, and record materials moved or handled in an ERP system
- Attach tags or label to materials or otherwise marks information
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Work under general supervision on duties and tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity

- Excellent time management skills and able to prioritize and meet work schedules
- Ability to manage multiple assignments
- Maintain forklift certification (we will provide appropriate training)
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Good understanding of MRP systems
- Effective computer skills including Excel and Word
