Job Responsibility:

Position Purpose and Summary

The Richmond Student Life Coordinator provides engagement and ministry experiences for students at TWU's Lansdowne and Minoru locations. The role gives particular assistance to spiritual awareness development, programming and support with a view toward the greater Student Life missional goal of inviting students to connect, thrive and serve at TWU Richmond.

Key Areas of Accountability

General

• To work with TWU Richmond's Director of Student Life, other Student Life Coordinator and key Student Life contacts to ensure demographically effective, relevant learning and host ministry experiences to achieve community-building goals and spiritual awareness across Richmond locations. This includes facilitating the following:

• The fulfillment of TWUs mission to “develop godly Christian leaders”
• An atmosphere that is pro-active and conducive to community building across the Richmond student body

• Assist Student Life Richmond to build on momentum gained from 2020-21 initiatives and accomplishments during a key time of growth and window of missional opportunity at TWU Richmond.
• To contribute to the discipleship efforts of the Student Ministries department through at large ministry to TWU students.

Specific

• Provide additional support to better serve and support the Richmond Student Leader team through SLOW, weekly team meetings, semester events, Winter Retreat, etc.
• Provide additional support in increasing overall (male) student connection and engagement by modelling personal care and friendship evangelism where opportunities present themselves.
• Provide additional support in spiritual care and programming for TWU Richmond students, staff and faculty at both Minoru and Lansdowne locations. In addition to directly supporting spiritual growth of our Student Leader team, other main focuses would include re-initiating Chapel programming, Bible Studies (internal and leveraging current external partnership resources), re-starting Alpha partnerships at Richmond locations, support and promotion of potential Habitat trip and future Global Projects trip.
• To help promote and recruit students to engage with campus activities such as student clubs, seasonal events, volunteer opportunities, Orientation, etc.
• To provide personal and spiritual mentoring for students as needed.
• To serve as a team player within TWU Richmond and Student Life assisting to accomplish the mission of the department.

Standards & Requirements

Education : Bachelor's Degree in related field required

Experience : At least one year of leadership in a Christian ministry or significant involvement in student ministry required. Previous ministry to university students (including international) in the area of discipleship/outreach ministries preferred.

Duties and responsibilities that do not constitute a major change may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of the supervisor either orally or in writing.
