ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager – Quality, this position has a key role in fostering a just culture within the organization.  The Coordinator – Client Safety works in collaboration with the clinical teams to plan, develop, implement, educate, and evaluate client safety practices, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, guidelines and standards.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Baccalaureate degree in a related science (Master's degree preferred)
• Specialized education/certification/experience in client safety
• Demonstrated knowledge/experience with performance measurement and healthcare reporting systems including incident management systems
• Extensive knowledge of current legislation governing health care facilities (Public Hospital Act Mental Health Act LTCHA QCIPA PIPEDA FIPPA ECFAA the Coroners' Act) and health and safety legislation

Skills/Abilities:

• Self-directed effective collaborator and an efficient problem-solver
• Demonstrated leadership project management skills
• Critical thinking and analytical skills
• Education/ training skills
• Excellent organizational skills and verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated computer proficiency with Novell Meditech MED e-Care and MS Office including Word Excel Publisher and PowerPoint

Assets:

• Risk Management education and/or certification
• Quality Improvement education and/or certification

Conditions of Employment:

• Will be required to travel to various work locations and provide own transportation
• This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
