The Durham District School Board acknowledges that many Indigenous Nations have longstanding relationships, both historic and modern, with the territories upon which our school board and schools are located. Today, this area is home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island. We acknowledge that the Durham Region forms a part of the traditional and treaty territory of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, the Mississauga Peoples and the treaty territory of the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation. 2026-27 School year Uncertified Supply - Elementary

The Durham District School Board is accepting applications for Uncertified Supply for the 2026-2027 school year.

The DDSB is responsible for public education in the rural settings of Uxbridge, Brock and Scugog Townships and the urban settings of Ajax, Whitby, Pickering and Oshawa

Description:

Under the direction of the Principal/Vice-Principal, uncertified supply support students within the classroom, provide supervision and must be able to respond appropriately when issues arise.

Uncertified Supply are utilized for daily assignments when there are no supply teachers available for an assignment the morning of.

Uncertified Supply are required to work in various elementary school locations and are assigned to schools via our Support Support Services team.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree or diploma program or have completed a degree or diploma program
• Experience working/volunteering with elementary aged children
• Experience working with children with different cultural backgrounds.
• Experience working with children with differing needs and capabilities.
• Ability to ensure the safety and security of students.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of student information.

This is a contract position till the end of June 2027 . Successful candidates will be assigned to schools based on the board's needs.

$175/per full day rate of pay
