Shape the future of GIS at York Regional Police as a specialist in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics. This full-time role focuses on transforming data and enhancing community safety through GIS solutions. As a GIS Specialist within York Regional Police’s Executive Services, you will create and maintain critical GIS data while ensuring seamless integration with Business Intelligence and Data Analytics applications. You will update geodatabases, publish data, and support various organizational GIS requirements, enhancing data quality and integrity. Key Responsibilities:
- Transform operational data and maintain geodatabases
- Configure web maps using web programming languages
- Support functionality on Community Safety Data Portal
- Conduct GIS server maintenance and recommend upgrades
- Automate redundant data flows and improve processes
- 4-year degree in Geography, Geomatics, or Computer Science
- 3 years of GIS data and web mapping experience
- Proficient with ESRI software and web mapping solutions
- Knowledge of spatial data management principles
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
