Communications Advisor For Waterloo Region Kitchener
Region of Waterloo
Lead impactful communications initiatives with the Region of Waterloo as a Communications Advisor. This temporary full‑time position blends hybrid work with strategic project management.
As a key member of the Strategic Initiatives and Asset Management department, you will provide leadership in developing communication strategies that drive measurable outcomes. Collaborating with various organizational leaders, you'll address complex issues while ensuring effective media relations and public engagement.
Your storytelling skills will help highlight the Region's services and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance on communication projects
- Create and manage public engagement campaigns
- Advise senior management on reputation management
- Develop and implement best practice communications strategies
- Participate in emergency communication during crises
Requirements
- University degree in Communications or related field
- Significant experience in strategic communications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with municipal governance and political environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools
