About the Company

Our client is a Canadian insurance company. They are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who will be responsible for financial statement preparation, quarterly financial close, regulatory reporting and other accounting, treasury, and financial planning and analysis responsibilities. Core finance responsibilities include preparation of month end journals and reconciliations, as well as quarterly and annual financial and regulatory reporting. This role also participates in the annual budget process and ad hoc projects as they arise.

About the Opportunity

• Prepare financial statements and support quarterly financial close
• Complete month-end journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial and regulatory reports
• Support treasury and financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities
• Participate in the annual budgeting process
• Assist with ad hoc projects as required

About You

• CPA designation preferred
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience of working on a general ledger system, preferably Microsoft
• Minimum 5-7 years’ post-designation or relevant work experience 
• Financial services or insurance industry experience preferred
• Technical accounting knowledge of IFRS 17 is an asset

Salary Range

$95,000 - $105,000/year
