OPERATIONS SUPERINTENDENT

Salary Range: $140,000.00 - $165,000.00

Schedule: Compressed Work Week (9-hour dayshifts, every other Friday off)

YOUR ROLE

Reporting to the Fibreline Manager, the Operations Superintendent will be responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of the assigned Pulp Mill department. The successful candidate will have prior experience in managing a Pulp Mill Operations Department.

Your Responsibilities

✓ Ensure maximum performance of the area and implementing procedures to optimize production and minimize cost while meeting quality standards;

✓ Promote and ensure continuous improvement of the safety culture and support the implementation of health and safety programs;

✓ Collaborate with the maintenance department and other segments of the business for best results and best coordination;

✓ Take immediate corrective action as required and propose medium term solutions on environmental issues;

✓ Administer budget of the area and manage supply ordering;

✓ Execute reliability assessments and initiate improvements projects;

✓ Lead shutdowns and planned work;

✓ Act as the project sponsor for capital projects;

✓ Maintain and improve an effective housekeeping program for the area;

✓ Manage employee performance and personnel issues while abiding by collective agreement.

Your Qualifications

✓ Minimum of 7 years of experience in pulp operations;

✓ Extensive experience in pulp technology, operating and production methods;

✓ Advanced knowledge of continuous improvement principles and techniques;

✓ A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is an asset;

✓ Strong computer system aptitude and experience working with various types of software

including Microsoft Office Suite.
