Project Manager (Canada)

Niche Technology designs, develops, supports, and implements an advanced police Records Management System (RMS). Our current offering, NicheRMS, covers the full breadth of police operations as standard, out-of-the-box functionality that is available now and in live production use. It is a single, integrated operational police information management platform—all police data is organized into a single, accessible source with a set of core building blocks. This is our sole focus and line of business. Niche Technology Inc. is a privately-owned Canadian corporation, established in 1992, that is owned and managed by its founders. Niche has subsidiaries in the UK and the US serving projects in the UK, Canada, Australia, and the US.

We are seeking a Project Manager with experience in the policing sector. This is a remote position open to candidates based in Canada (preference to Ontario candidates) and includes travel to customer sites as needed.

Management of New and Existing Projects:

• Manage software implementation projects from initiation through completion.


• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer agencies.


• Manage project scope, timelines, risks, and deliverables.


• Lead customer meetings, workshops, training sessions, and status reviews.


• Coordinate project activities with internal teams and customer stakeholders.


• Track project issues and escalate risks as required.


• Provide regular project updates and status reports.


• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.


• Schedule and coordinate software upgrades and deployment activities.


• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with Niche project standards and methodologies.

Customer Support and Relationship Management:

• Provide guidance on system functionality and best practices.


• Understand customer business processes and operational requirements.


• Assist with fit/gap analysis and solution recommendations.


• Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and project outcomes.


• Participate in user conferences, workshops, and customer engagement activities.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate project documentation and records.


• Prepare meeting minutes, status reports, and project communications.


• Ensure project documentation remains current and complete.


• Support the development and maintenance of training materials.

Technical and Business Support:

• Develop a strong understanding of NicheRMS and its capabilities.


• Work closely with Development, Support, and Sales teams.


• Review customer requirements and assist with solution development.


• Participate in testing and validation activities when required.


• Support demonstrations, proposals, and customer presentations.

Qualifications:

• Experience managing projects within a police agency, public safety organization, or policing technology environment.


• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.


• Experience leading software implementation or technology projects.


• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.


• Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


• Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites as required.


• Ability to obtain police security clearance, including fingerprinting, when requested by a customer agency.
