Work with Norah and Jacob and others to deliver Pivot Theatre’s annual festival, January 4-30, 2027.

In addition to the Festival Associate role, Pivot will be hiring Production Assistants for small roles throughout January. Indicate on your application if you’re interested in being on our call list for those roles, or reach out separately if you’re only interested in those roles.

SCHEDULE AND RATE

Starting part time in November (flexible start date and hours), and full time in January during the festival.

$30 / hour.

Budgeted for up to 150 hours at $30/hour.

*Evening and weekend work during the January festival is essential to this position.*

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail oriented person who is able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Being very organized and having excellent communication skills.
• Currently living in the Yukon and able to commute to Whitehorse.
• Post-secondary and/or experience and interest in theatre or arts is an asset.
• Comfortable and capable with computers; experience with Google Docs, Slack, Social Media preferred.
• Ability to work from home on a computer with access to the internet is preferred.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• First aid / CPR training is an asset.
• Be legally able to work in the Yukon.

Responsibilities as the Festival Associate will include:

• Event support: Assisting with set up, during events (checking in attendees, stage management or technical support, etc), and tear down.
• Sun Room support: Supporting both public and private sun room bookings, acting as a sun room attendant, managing tea and coffee supplies.
• Volunteer management: Communications with volunteers, confirming schedules.
• Sponsor support: Managing invitations to performances for sponsors.

And:

• Identifying, sourcing and gathering materials required for festival;
• Creating and maintaining schedules;
• Partner relations and follow up;
• Organizing and communicating logistics to artists and participants;
• Helping to ensure participants are comfortable and have what they need to participate in the festival.
• Participating in marketing and social media activities.

• Acting as a respectful and responsible representative of Pivot Theatre;
• Other related duties as delegated by the Pivot team.
• Work with visiting artists, including helping with arrangement of airport pickups/dropoffs, hospitality and local travel.
• Assist in coordinating volunteers (Front of House, other volunteers).
• Additional duties as determined by the Pivot Team.
