Culinary Opportunities - First Cook, Second Cook, Third Cook
Every memorable experience at Fairmont Chateau Whistler begins behind the scenes with our culinary team's commitment to exceptional cuisine, and safe, efficient operations.
We have both seasonal and permanent opportunities available across winter 2026. Positions start in September, October, November and December 2026.
Starting Rate of Pay:
First Cook: $25.85 per hour / Second Cook : $23.85 per hour / Third Cook: $22.45 per hour
We recognize tenure through our compensation - hourly rates increase after 6 months and then yearly to three years.
Job Duties Include:
- Prepare, cook and service all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus or individual dishes according to hotel recipes and standards
- Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards and follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Have full knowledge of all menu’s items, daily features and promotions
- Ensure proper labeling, dating and storage of all items in the kitchen
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of work areas, utensils, and equipment and Control waste and spoilage
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances and handle guest allergy concerns with appropriate care and importance by reporting to Sous Chef
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the culinary field
- Diploma/Certification in a culinary discipline an asset
