JOB SUMMARY

We’re looking for friendly, efficient and service-minded individuals to support our front-of-house team. This role is essential in ensuring smooth operations and delivering a warm, welcoming experience for every guest. From greeting and seating to supporting servers and maintaining cleanliness, you’ll play a key role in the overall flow of our guests dining experience. Guaranteed 25-30 hours a week.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Greet and welcome guests upon arrival with a positive, professional demeanor
• Escort guests to their tables or bar seating, provide menus and answering initial questions
• Maintain a clean, organized reception and entry area
• Clear and reset tables by removing dirty dishes and tableware
• Wipe down and sanitize tables, chairs and other high-touch surfaces between seatings
• Support servers by restocking wait stations with glassware, silverware, napkins and condiments
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely, accurate order flow
• Thank guests as they depart and assist in creating an elevated guest experience
• Assist the front-of-house team as needed
• Other duties as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position reports to the Manager, The Observatory and does not require any direct supervisory duties.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES

• Previous experience working in a high-volume restaurant environment preferred
• Previous experience working in an administration position
• Knowledge of proper food handling procedures
• Experience with Tock Reservation Platform & MS Office considered an asset
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 25lbs
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication and time management skills
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays
• Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada for the duration of employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Hours of Operation are weather dependent. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$19.28 to $22.55 per hour + gratuities
