Genetic Counselor for Cardiovascular Genetics

Join AHS South as a Genetic Counselor in Calgary specializing in cardiovascular conditions. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional genetic counseling services. This temporary full-time position is part of the Adult Genetics Division at the Richmond Road Diagnostic & Treatment Center. You will work closely with medical geneticists, cardiologists, and other professionals to assess genetic risks and provide informed choices to adult patients. This role involves both one-on-one and group webinar counseling sessions. Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients' genetic risks and interpret test results
- Analyze inheritance patterns to guide patient decisions
- Provide supportive counseling with cultural sensitivity
- Advocate for patients and refer to support services
- Educate healthcare professionals and the public about genetics
- Master's degree in Genetic Counseling
- Board Certification or eligibility with CAGC or ABGC
- Expertise in interpreting complex genetic data
- Strong relationship management and team collaboration skills
- Proven experience in organizational change initiatives
