Silver Sage is a non-profit enterprise dedicated to providing and promoting high quality affordable rental housing throughout southern Saskatchewan since 1983. Our mission is to assist people and communities achieve their housing goals. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Officer to join our team.
What we are looking for: A reliable and skilled individual to provide general maintenance and repair services throughout Silver Sage Housing properties. The Maintenance Officer will complete routine maintenance, general repairs, minor renovations, and preventative maintenance, including painting, drywall repairs, basic framing, siding, flooring, windows, doors, fencing, locks and keys. The position will also respond to assigned work orders, assist with vacant-unit maintenance and safety inspections, and participate in on-call and emergency maintenance as required. A minimum of three (3) years of related experience in general building maintenance, housing repairs, or a similar role is required. Apprenticeship experience in carpentry, plumbing, or a related trade would be an asset. WHMIS and First Aid/CPR certification would also be an asset. Employment is conditional upon a positive outcome from a Criminal background check. A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for job-related use are required. The successful applicant must be available for on-call and after-hours response as required.Pursuant to section 16 and 48 of the Saskatchewan Human Rights Code, preference will be given to applicants of First Nation Ancestry.
