MatchBox Consulting Group is recruiting for a Procurement Specialist to support procurement and sourcing activities within a construction company in Edmonton or Calgary.
This position is well suited to a procurement professional who is proactive, analytical, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate procurement activities for goods and services in alignment with category strategies, policies, and operational requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local operations teams to anticipate procurement needs and support business objectives
- Support sourcing initiatives, RFx processes, supplier negotiations, and contract implementation activities
- Manage supplier relationships for equipment, maintenance services, and operational support vendors
- Compose contracts and agreements using approved templates and procurement guidelines
- Analyze procurement data, spend trends, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements
- Support savings initiatives and monitor procurement KPIs and supplier performance metrics
- Ensure procurement activities align with safety, compliance, and internal control requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support operational efficiency and procurement optimization
- Assist with contractor setup and compliance requirements related to safety and operational standards
Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of procurement experience
- Experience supporting procurement, sourcing, or supply chain activities within related environments
- Strong analytical and data management skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and identify trends and savings opportunities
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using BI.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and proactively solve problems
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience working within cross-functional teams
- Valid Driver’s License
