Optical System Architect for Synopsys

Design the future of optical systems as an Optical System Architect at Synopsys, specializing in SerDes technologies for high-speed communication. Drive advancements in PCIe and Ethernet systems through innovative modeling. This role requires expertise in developing and optimizing SerDes models for 128Gbps and 200Gbps protocols using MATLAB and Simulink. As you tackle complex technical challenges, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide insights during customer engagement. Your troubleshooting skills will play a crucial role in enhancing system performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain MATLAB models for NRZ and PAM4 links
- Run sign-off simulations to verify protocol performance
- Design calibration algorithms for real-time performance tuning
- Correlate silicon measurements with simulation results
- Collaborate with analog designers on implementation tradeoffs
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
- Deep expertise in SerDes modeling and high-speed communications
- Experience with NRZ or PAM4 signaling
- Hands-on knowledge of equalization techniques
- Ability to debug and update models based on real-world results
