Job Overview

As an  Animal Behaviour & Enrichment Technician for our Veterinary Services team at the Senneville location, you will ensure good welfare and humane care for all animals worked with through gentle, positive human-animal interactions.

In this role, primary responsibilities include:

• Perform animal well-being and behavioral assessments and develop behavioral management plans and follow up with clinical veterinarians;
• Maintains inventory and storage space;
• Participate in activities such as exercise sessions, installing exercise cages;
• Contribute to implementation of new processes and/or projects designed to improve the company’s behavioral management program;
• Collect, document, review, and verify data on forms, or in electronic data capture systems;
• Support the other departments and study specific activities when necessary;
• Use and maintain instrumentation and equipment as applicable.

We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role:

• College Diploma in Animal Health - New graduates are welcome, no experience needed; 
• College Diploma in Bioecology, Biology, Biotechnology, or any other related disciplines with a minimum of 2 years of recent work experience with animals as an Animal Health Technician; 
• Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.);
• Good observation skills;
• Problem solving skills;
• Very good understanding and able to speak in French;

Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test covered by the company.

Role Specific Information:

• Location : 22022 route Transcanadienne, Senneville, QC, H9X 1C1;
• Transportation : We offer a free shuttle service from the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue train station, John Abbott College and from the REM station of l’Anse à l’Orme to the Senneville site. Free parking. Electric vehicle charging station;
• Salary : $23.50/hr;
• Annual bonus based on performance;
• Schedule : Monday to Friday daytime. Depending on the needs, you may have to do overtime;
• Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week.
