Position Summary This position is responsible for ordering, receiving, storing, distributing, monitoring and maintaining food services inventory and supplies utilizing inventory management software. Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitors, orders and maintains inventory of food, beverage, cleaning and other supplies. Prepares purchase orders and requisitions utilizing computerized tracking system.

• Maintains inventory management software database.

• Creates and maintains vendor records and documents supplier performance. Meets with suppliers to discuss new products, short shipments and to resolve quality issues.

• Receives shipments and unpacks goods, verifying quantity and quality. Stocks goods in the correct store following FIFO policy. Checks products received against purchase orders and invoices, ensuring accurate pricing. Maintains vendor records and documents supplier performance. Notifies appropriate individuals of any discrepancies and follows up with the supplier until all credits are received.

• Generates and fills requisitions, ensuring completion and timeliness, showing care and attention to food quality. Makes note on requisitions of any shortages and/or amendments as per store policies.

• Assists students and instructors, responds to questions and concerns related to the storeroom procedures, ordering, special order items and supplies. Provides support on the use of the inventory management software.

• Enters and codes invoices in preparation for payment for food and supply purchases. Enters and checks store requisitions and transfers.

• Completes quarterly inventory counts, provides inventory and transfer reports.

• Provides information to customers on techniques, procedures and methodologies of requisitioning food and other supplies.

• Participates in regular meetings with department heads to review records and develop action plans for improvement. Identifies operational problems and reports them accordingly.

• Assists in the implementation, maintenance, and operation of upgrades to the food and beverage software tracking system.

• May be required to provide routine supervision, orientation and training in storeroom procedures. Provides feedback on training and performance of casual employees in stores operations to the food service manager.

• Maintains clean and orderly storeroom, rotates stock for efficient storage and may make minor repairs to storeroom equipment.

• Maintains a clean and organized walk in fridge and freezer.

• Identifies operational problems and reports them accordingly.

• Assists in maintaining information whiteboard and alerts the next shift of any outstanding items or issues.

• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications Education and Experience

• Grade 12 including up to 1 year of specialized training and 1 year related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience may be substituted for the required qualifications.
• FOODSAFE Level 1.

• Neat personal appearance and good hygiene.
• Demonstrated knowledge of a food stores environment, including rotating stock, performing inventory control, order picking, record keeping and handling materials.
• Ability to learn assigned tasks quickly and perform them in accordance with established procedures.
• Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks for extended periods of time, and handle heavy loads, up to 50 lbs., using bins and pallet lifts etc.
