This position is an essential member of the Student Services team, responsible for supporting the admissions, enrollments, record keeping and other administrative requirements for the Manitoba Emergency Services College. The MESC offers training in a wide variety of courses in the areas of fire fighting, rescue, public education, paramedicine, fire office and management. This team of 3 supports nearly 3000 emergency services students across the Province of Manitoba annually. Qualifications:

• Post secondary degree and/or certification in Business or Administration and at least one year office experience. Consideration will be given to a combination of education and experience related to this position
• Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully liaise with other departments, various stakeholders, students, and the general public
• Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records using a complex database system
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Excellent written communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook and TEAMS
• Demonstrated customer service experience providing support in person, by phone, or by email
• Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision and make quick independent decisions using sound judgement
• Organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize individual workloads to adjust to varying demands
• Experience with interpreting complex legislation and/or policies
• Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information

Duties: This candidate manages the daily operations of Student Services, ensuring accurate student records and course data, handling grades, certifications, course requests, transcripts, and reports. They oversee student enrollment, including processing applications, confirming acceptances, and providing support. They also respond to questions about MESC programs and training. The role includes managing all aspects of exam administration—preparation, scheduling, proctoring, and maintaining the exam bank in line with accreditation standards. They provide frontline support to Manitoba Fire Service stakeholders, such as Training Coordinators, Fire Chiefs, and government staff. Additionally, they support general office duties like phone coverage, customer service, payments, and mail handling when needed.
