Senior Research Engineer, Agentic Software Systems

Huawei Canada is seeking a Senior Research Engineer to develop agentic software systems. Innovate AI applications while enhancing software engineering collaboration within our team.
Joining the Intelligent Complex Systems Team in Waterloo, you will focus on building software engineering frameworks that facilitate effective collaboration between humans and AI agents. Your role will involve researching the evolving landscape of code agents and their role in optimizing software development tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build a comprehensive agentic software engineering framework
• Examine code agents and software engineering paradigms
• Develop collaborative patterns for multi-agent systems
• Create and optimize engineering assets for AI agents
• Drive innovations in full-stack engineering capabilities
Requirements:
• PhD in Computer Science or a relevant discipline
• Experience with modern tools in agentic coding
• Proven background in AI software development
• Skilled in Python or other programming languages
• Notable publications or contributions in AI conferences
