About the Role

As a Mid-Level Translation Specialist (English to French Canadian), you'll join our local Canadian creative team, connected to the global team, and working for one of our largest and most prestigious international clients. This is a key role focused on delivering high-quality, culturally relevant translations across a wide range of content types from marketing campaigns and social media copy to web content and product descriptions. You’ll collaborate closely with copywriters, creative, project managers, and reviewers, ensuring that every piece of translated content captures the original tone, style, and intent while adapting it for the Quebec market, as well as French-speaking Canadians.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately translate English content into French Canadian across multiple formats (marketing, web, social, product, internal comms, etc.)


• Ensure cultural and linguistic appropriateness, adapting tone and messaging to align with client brand guidelines


• Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders for clarifications, context, and approvals


• Perform light copy adaptation when needed to localize messaging beyond direct translation


• Conduct self-proof reading and participate in quality review cycles


• Maintain consistency with approved glossaries, style guides, and terminology databases


• Manage translation deadlines and handle multiple projects with varying turnaround times
  

About You

The essentials:

• 5+ years of professional translation experience (agency or in-house experience preferred)


• Native-level fluency in French Canadian, with strong command of English


• Experience translating for global brands with a focus on marketing, digital, or creative content


• Deep understanding of cultural nuances, tone of voice, and linguistic adaptation


• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume environments


• Familiarity with translation tools (CAT tools) such as XTM, SDL Trados or MemoQ is a plus


• Comfortable working with remote, multicultural teams and collaborating across time zones


• Knowledge and experience in the automotive industry is preferred.

• Adaptable and able to pivot between different content types and tones


• Reliable, responsive, and committed to meeting deadlines

What We Offer

Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.

Salary Range

$69,000—$75,000 CAD
