DevOps Cloud Engineer 5943 (Toronto)

The Dev Ops (development operations) position will help the organization speed up and automate aspects of developing, testing, releasing and updating software. The Dev Ops engineer will combine technical expertise in software development and operations with project management and communication skills to facilitate this effort. Responsibilities

Assess current systems and processes, develop ways to improve them. Build and set up current development tools and infrastructure. Work closely with CYSSC dev‑ops teams to define and set development, test, release, update, and support processes for Dev Ops operations. Identify and deploy cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management. Select and deploy appropriate CI/CD tools. Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipelines (CI/CD Pipeline). Understand the needs of stakeholders and convey these to developers. Work with developers and IT colleagues to oversee code releases. Write specifications documents. Test and examine code written by others and analyze the results. Identify technical problems and develop software updates and fixes. Plan or support the planning of project phases, being involved in project management decisions. Experience & Skills

3 to 5+ years of Dev Ops experience, including knowledge of version control, continuous integration servers, configuration management, containers, deployment automation, infrastructure orchestration, testing, cloud quality tools, monitoring, analytics, and network protocols. Solid cloud computing, database management, and network management skills. Excellent understanding of Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and other major cloud platforms. Proficient coding and scripting skills in Node.js, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Shell, Bash, PHP, Perl, and Python. Ability to automate a full Dev Ops pipeline, manage infrastructure configurations, CI/CD pipelines, and application performance monitoring. Experience with automation tools such as Source Code Management (SCM), Ansible, Jenkins, Maven, and Git. Automation testing skills: proficient in Puppet, Chef, Docker, Jenkins, Selenium, and related tools. DevSecOps skills, including code analysis, change management, threat investigation, security training, and vulnerability assessment. Knowledge of monitoring tools like Nagios and Splunk, and capability to identify bottlenecks, apply security patches, and upgrade system versions. Familiarity with container‑related tools: Docker Engine, LXC, container registries, Docker Swarm, systemd-nspawn, and Kubernetes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Proficiency in agile methodology, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) provisioning, workflow operating systems, and the project management lifecycle. Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including developers, operations, and management. Create clear and comprehensive documentation for processes, procedures, and configurations. Strong problem‑solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues efficiently. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies as the Dev Ops field evolves. Team player who focuses on delivering value to clients by improving software delivery and operations processes. Lead cultural and organizational changes related to Dev Ops practices.
