Nanny Wanted - After School Caregiver Needed For Fun, Active 6 Year Old M F, 3pm 6pm

We are looking for a reliable, warm, and active caregiver to provide one-on-one after-school care for our 6-year-old daughter, Monday to Friday from approximately 3:00–6:00 p.m. The role would involve picking her up from school at 3:00 p.m. and spending the afternoon with her until 6:00 p.m. We are hoping to find someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with kids and is comfortable getting out and doing activities together. Afternoons could include swimming at the pool, gymnastics, Happy Mess, trips to the library, bike rides, helping with a small grocery shop, or simply staying at the school playground for 30–45 minutes and playing outside. We’d love for this to feel like enjoyable one-on-one time rather than just childcare. You will need to have your own reliable vehicle and be comfortable picking her up from school and driving her to activities around Squamish. She also loves riding her bike, so having the ability to transport a bike would be a bonus. For the first part of the fall, most afternoons will involve spending time out in the community. By late fall, and no later than December 1, we will be moving into the separate suite above our house. At that point, you will also be able to bring her home after school and care for her there until 6:00 p.m. Our current household includes two adults and two children. Her older sister has a disability, and the after-school period can be a particularly challenging time for both children. I will be providing one-on-one support to her older sister during those hours, so having the children spend that time separately is an important part of making our afternoons calmer and more successful for everyone. We are looking for someone dependable, patient, energetic, and comfortable taking initiative in planning simple activities.
