Estimating Manager at Seaspan Shipyards

Become the Estimating Manager at Seaspan Shipyards, leading a dedicated team in North Vancouver to prepare accurate estimates for new construction projects. This on-site role requires expertise in shipbuilding or large manufacturing. In this pivotal management role, you will oversee the Estimating team within the Program Management Office. Key responsibilities include developing material and labor estimates and analyzing historical performance data. Your insights help shape bids and proposals to ensure competitive pricing and optimal resource allocation. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare labor and material estimates for new construction bids
- Analyze historical data to establish norms and metrics
- Develop labor rates across various production activities
- Create accurate estimates from contract and design documents
- Support the Program Management Office with estimating change work
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business
- 3 years of estimating management experience
- 10 years of estimating in shipbuilding or construction
- Experience with Government contracts preferred
- Strong technical skills to interpret specifications and drawings
